But you can treat your child to an unusual Turkish delight made from homemade pumpkin. Preparing such a dessert is not at all difficult, in addition, this dessert is very healthy and is considered almost dietary.

Turkish delight from fresh pumpkin

Compound:

Fresh pumpkin – 250 grams,

Potato starch – 2 cups,

Sugar – 500 grams,

Water,

Lemon juice

Cooking:

Cut the pumpkin with medium pieces, pour 100 milligrams of water into a deep enameled pan and add all the sugar. Prepare the syrup so that the sugar is completely dissolved in it. Add chopped pumpkin to the finished syrup and put to boil over medium heat. After the pumpkin is soft, remove the container from the heat and let cool. Using a hand blender, turn the pumpkin into a homogeneous mass. Add lemon juice to puree, mix well. Put the mashed potatoes on medium heat, but in the meantime you can cook potato starch. To introduce starch into pumpkin puree, it must be diluted in cold water. This can be done in an ordinary glass, pour the prepared starch to the bottom, add a little water and mix thoroughly so that all the starch can dissolve. You will need one and a half glasses of water for 2 cups of potato starch. While you are dissolving the starch, the pumpkin puree will begin to boil, and now you can gradually introduce the starch, while the liquid must be stirred all the time with a spoon. The mass will begin to thicken little by little.

The most important thing is that there are no lumps of starch in the puree. Stir for a few minutes, then remove the pumpkin puree from the heat.

While the puree is cooling, prepare a form for its solidification. To do this, you can use a plastic container or a ceramic mold with low sides. The mold must be greased with vegetable or butter. Pour the puree into the prepared form, if you want to use a plastic form, you need to pour the puree into it only when it has completely cooled down. When the puree has completely cooled, it must be put in the refrigerator for a couple of hours.

After the puree has solidified, it must be laid out on a flat surface, cut into large squares. Dip each one in powdered sugar.

Turkish delight with candied fruits

This dessert is prepared in the same way as from a pumpkin. Pour the finished mass into a special form for solidification, spread the chopped candied fruit on the lower layer of Turkish delight, and put another layer of mass on top. When the Turkish delight hardens and you cut it, try to make sure that each piece contains candied fruit. You can simply mix the mass with candied fruits and put it in a mold. You can also add nuts to this dessert.
